MASTERCLASS: O MEU MÉTODO, com Júlio Alves
Os realizadores finalistas do European Short Films Amarante terão uma masterclass com o realizador premiado Júlio Alves. A pretexto da estreia da mais recente curta-metragem Casa Manuel Vieira, num novo contexto de produção e de realização e até de exibição do cinema europeu, refletirão com o realizador sobre o seu próprio processo de trabalho.
Júlio Alves nasceu em Lisboa em 1971. Desde muito cedo, começou a trabalhar em cinema e participou em 14 longas metragens como assistente de realização. AFIRMA PEREIRA, de Robert Faenza, com Marcello Mastroianni foi uma das experiências desta fase. Realiza curtas metragens desde 1995. A FACHADA (1995) O DESPERTADOR (1996) ALFERES (2000) OSSUDO (2007) O JOGO (2010) 42,195 KM (2010) A primeira longa metragem A CASA teve a sua estreia no festival INDIE LISBOA, em 2012 e O REGRESSO, segunda longa metragem, estreou no DOC LISBOA ainda nesse ano. Desde o ano 2000 realiza filmes publicitários para as principais marcas e agências portuguesas em Portugal, Angola e Espanha. É co-fundador do One Shot Film Festival – festival de publicidade de filmes de um só plano.

MASTERCLASS: My Method with Júlio Alves
The finalists of the European Short Films Amarante will have a masterclass with award-winning filmmaker Júlio Alves.
Under the pretext of the premiere of the latest short film Casa Manuel Vieira, in a new context of production and fulfillment and even exhibition of European cinema, they will reflect with the director on their own work process.
Júlio Alves was born in Lisbon in 1971. Very early he started working in cinema and participated in 14 movies as an assistant director. AFIRMA PEREIRA, by Robert Faenza, with Marcello Mastroianni was one of the experiences of this period.
He directs short films since 1995. A FACHADA (1995) O DESPERTADOR (1996) ALFERES (2000) OSSUDO (2007) O JOGO (2010) 42,195 KM (2010). His first movie A CASA had its premiere at the festival INDIE LISBOA in 2012 and his second movie O REGRESSO, premiered at DOC LISBOA later that year.
Since 2000, Júlio Alves directs commercials for major brands and Portuguese agencies in Portugal, Angola and Spain.
He is co-founder of One Shot Film Festival - advertising festival films from a single plane.
The director has won numerous awards.
